Prepaid Baggage policy – Vietnam airlines

1.      General rules and conditions:

• Pre-paid baggage is available for passengers holding Vietnam Airlines tickets, except for infant under 2 years old
• Available on all VN operated flights, except for some short domestic sectors operated by small aircraft ATR72.
• Pre-paid baggage can be purchased at least six (6) hours prior to flight departure time at  VN ticketing offices or travel agencies on/after 31 March 2015. Passengers can buy Pre-paid baggage during booking processing or after successful payment. Passenger must use the reservation code and registered email to purchase Pre-paid baggage on the website www.vietnamairlines.com.
• Pre-paid baggage will be sold in 5kg weight per block. Maximum 10 blocks (50kg) can be purchased per passenger.
• Pre-paid baggage is subject to Vietnam Airlines Standard conditions of maximum weight and size for checked baggage and not for Special baggage.
• Pre-paid baggage is only valid for the passenger on the specific flight – which is paid for. Pre-paid baggage could not be endorsed, rerouted, refunded and/or exchanged to other services or tickets. Exception: Totally unused Pre-paid baggage associated to ticket with itinerary originating from Korea will be refundable. The refund fee is 25% of the unused Pre-paid baggage value.
• Pre-paid baggage can be voluntarily changed to other Vietnam Airlines operated flights on the same sector. The change must be done at least 6 hours before departure time of original and new flight.
• If the weight of baggage is less than Baggage Allowance and Pre-paid baggage, Pre-paid baggage is not permitted to refund. If the weight of baggage is in excess of Baggage allowance and Pre-paid baggage, passenger must pay Excess baggage charges which are applied for the exceeding weight according to Weight concept (kg).

2.      Rate:

2.1  Domestic within Vietnam

        Domestic Pre-paid baggage is applied by rate of each sector.

2.2  International

• Applied by portion from point of check-in baggage to next stop-over point.
• The below rate will be converted to local currency at time of purchasing.
• Zones:

                Zone A: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia,  Singapore and Hong kong

Zone B: China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan

Zone C: Australia, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Russia
